Please elect Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins to the Country Music Hall of fame! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/please-elect-cowboy-copas-and-ha wkshaw-hawkins-to-the-country-music-hall-of-fame
On March 5th 1963 a plane crashed in the hills of Tennesee taking the lives of Cowboy Copas, Patsy Cline and Hawkshaw Hawkins in 46 years Patsy Clines name is always remembered but Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins have been been all but forgotton. There were no finer honky tonk singer in the 1940's thru the 1960's but they are alway forgotton I want to change that! Please sign this petition and let the Country Music Foundation know you feel it is time to change this oversight!
This website is wonderful - this is my first visit but I'll be back. Looking ofrward to my trip to Nashville in a couple of weeks. It will be the first time back in about 30 years.
I'm spreading the word around about ROPE and hope it gets you some members. Be nice to get updates on folks like Wilma Lee Cooper, Kitty Wells & Johnny and Doc Williams from Wheeling. Doc & Chickie were recently inducted into the Maine CMA Hall of Fame. As founder of the NE Country Music Historical Soc., I have lots of contacts but (unfortunately) no funds.
Marty thanks for the wonderful information about ROPE. I really appreciate the update on our friend and great steel picker, Lynn Owsley. This is wonderful to have a place where country muxic is real. We just had a big fishing tournament in honor or Porter Wagoner, "Artists and Anglers." It was a great honor to host and emcee this event. The country music artists out enjoying life is a wonderful thing. Thanks again for the great updates and especially the prayer requests. Be Blessed, Chief-George
